Disston’s has laser cutting capabilities to cut many types of ferrous metals and non-ferrous metals. Laser cutting works by directing a high power pulsed laser beam on the material to be cut. The energy of the laser is converted into heat, which melts or vaporizes the material and a gas is used to expel or blow away the molten metal and vapor from the cutting path.

Laser cut steel pieces: up to 96 inches x 120 inches
Tolerances: +/- .015 inches

Disston laser cutters can produce high precision cuts on complex shapes. We can cut several parts simultaneously in nested groups with extreme accuracy. The cutting edges produce clean surface which requires minimal finishing, as well as, low edge loads during cutting that will reduce distortions.
