Disston Precision provides manufactured custom saw blades & steel parts of the highest quality. These photos demonstrate the care and steps taken to provide precision steel products.
This image shows a Disston friction
circular saw blade with an 84 inch
O.D. being repaired by welding
for a U.S. steel mill.
When raw material is received
from the mill, we often use an
oxygen/acetylene torch
to cut saw blades’ outer
and inner diameters.
This image shows the flame cutting
of a saw blade. We also use plasma,
laser, and water jet when needed.
All work is completed in-house
in our Philadelphia, PA manufacturing
facility using time honored
methods - since 1840.
This image shows our CNC drilling machine to drill holes in die cutting plates. Hole accuracy is +/- 0.010 inches. We are not limited by number of holes or configuration.
This image shows our austentizing furnace on the left. Steel product moves out of the furnace and along the conveyor to the oil quench tank. This process increases hardness of the steel up to 62 HRc. View more on Heat Treating.
This image shows a close up view of the teeth on a customer's 92' diameter carbide circular saw blade. Disston is repairing this saw blade for a aluminum mill in the U.S.
This 84" steel saw blade (upper right corner of image) is being Blanchard ground. The ground saw blade will be parallel within 0.002 inches.

This saw smith is checking tension and run out on a 92" carbide circular saw blade.
The roller conveyor leads steel product to the oil quench tank. The oil medium raises the hardness level of the steel up to 62 HRc. View more on Heat Treating.
A close up view of our heat treating platten furnace. This furnace is capable of heat flattening or stess relieving steel products up to 85 inches wide and up to 5000 lbs. View more on Heat Flatterning.
This die tempering furnace contains die plattened plates. This furnace is capable of heat flattening or stess relieving steel products up to 85" wide and up to 5000 lbs. - with pressures up to 10,000 lbs per square inch. View more on Heat Treating.
