Heat treated under closely controlled conditions, our air compressor parts are hardened and double tempered, and meet extremely high flatness standards.
Low stress grinding relieves residual stresses to provide close parallelism and thickness tolerances. Disston compressor valve steel discs are ground to close accuracy in both inside and outside diameters and are liquid honed or vibrated to fine finishes and uniform corner breaks. Only cross rolled steels go into the manufacturing of Disston air compressor valve platess.
PROOF OF PERFORMANCE: Disston valve plates have operated for more than 25,000 hours without a breakdown.
