These processes are accomplished in furnaces with modern controls to assure precise temperatures and heat treatment cycles to meet our customer’s physical and metallurgical requirements. We carry a large inventory of steel and can harden and temper your material or ours.
Heating treating hardens metal. In this video, we are using oil as the quenching medium. The oil allows the center cubic molecules to expand and become hard. Disston uses a quench press to keep materials flat during the process.
