Heat treated under closely controlled conditions, the compressor valve discs are hardened and double tempered, and meet extremely high flatness standards.

Low stress grinding relieves residual stresses to provide close parallelism and thickness tolerances. Disston compressor valve discs are ground to close accuracy in both inside and outside diameters and are liquid honed or vibrated to fine finishes and uniform corner breaks.
